Initial Idea
I love watching movies and TV, being brought into a story that somene has written. My favorite are ones that have a magical or metaphysical component to the storyline. Searching for that, usually meant picking the genre of Fantasy but there were so many more out there, in romance, comedy, and then documentaries. It was always a crap shoot finding something. But i have gotten lucky many times ot find amazing entertainment. I thoguht to myself, I wish I could go to one place and just randomly pick something knowing it would be in that general storyline. I could never find such a site. So I decided to create one in case there are others that share my passion for movies, tv, or on demand programs with a magical, spirtual or metaphysical storyline.
I also love popcorn in any form, so naturally the name came easily for the site. I did make past reviews for members only because I’m putting a lot of work into this, and I think for people to appreciate things it needs to be a little exclusive. I will make each month’s review public for that month, then at the end of the month when I switch to new reviews the last month will be put i the member only section. The goal is that you can go there and search by genre and find something you like that might be from past years, but that there is always something new for you to check out. Now the catch is where to find it, the way companies are being added and things are moving more online to different platforms, it is hard to keep up. I will suggest where I found it, but look to the Pass the Popcorn community to share where they found it too. Under each review, the goal is for members to put their reviews as well. Mine will be short and sweet, well most of them, I can get verbose sometimes when I’m on a roll. But the goal is to give you just a starting point about the themes in the program that might be of interest, and initial thoughts.
And because people seem to like ratings, please rate the programs, and we will keep a running average of ratings from people. As well as my initial rating. I choose to do a different rating system than the normal 5 star system. Also different than movieland where there are some tomatoes thrown but Pass the Popcorn, has the Pop Scale. Each entry will be given 1-5 pops. Five being the best rating.
Members can also make suggestions of movies to review, with their review, and we might just use your review in the next month’s review list. So have fun and hopefully this will become a rgreat resource for stories with a magical, metaphysical or spiritual theme. let’s share story’s that are being made by amazing writers, producers, directors, crew and actors.
