Thoughts: I had no idea what to expect, but I looks for shows about tribes and people connecting to mother earth. This one is about The Kogi/Tairona of Columbia, thought to be direct descendants of Atlanteans. They are said to be the last surviving tribe of ancient meditational and spiritual warriors in the Western World.
They came out of hiding to warn the human civilization that we are making great changes to the earth and if we are to survive our own selves we must change our ways or perish. They asked a BBC camera crew to come into their lives and record their warning.
What you get in this film is an incredible glimpse into the highest level of spirit. Young Shamans are specially selected and in training are placed in caves for 17 years and kept in the dark – when they emerge they blossom into superior connected beings. They are so in tune with themselves and the spirits, that they can read between the lines of the crap in the world and not be taken in by it. When I first heard this, I had a hard time. thinking how cruel, but when you hear their elders talk about how connected they are to mother earth. It sounds like an amazing thing. I have known people to do silence retreats and talk about how much they got out of it. This sounds like something similar to the max.
I would have loved to have been the person interviewing the elders and the new trainees that have come out of the cave. How has their brain heightened their senses not having any light. This is a not to be missed documentary. It is a little slow in the beginning, but wait for it, trust me. Enjoy the popcorn and let me know what you think.
